What exactly is a power flush?

A powerflush, which is also known as jet flushing, is the most efficient way of thoroughly cleaning your central heating system so that it can operate at its most efficient level. Our heating engineers will  pump water, with the addition of some cleaning chemicals, through your radiators at a controlled, but fast velocity, and with the aid of additional cleaning chemicals and immobilising agents, helps remove any sludge, scale and debris that has built up in the system naturally over time. This buildup effectively blocks the flow of hot water through your heating system which will have a few knock-on effects including:

• Underperforming heating levels: your heating system will not produce the level of heat as it should
• Increased energy bills: the cost of your heating will rise as you will need to put the heating on a higher setting than it needs to be on in order to generate more heat
• An exhausted boiler: blocked radiators will mean that your boiler will be overworked, thus reducing its lifespan

How do you know if it's time for a power flush?
